The objective of this project was to create an artist book for an art gallery. For this project I decided to pick Vincent Van Gogh as my artist and the ‘Van Gogh Museum’ of Amsterdam as my museum. Since Van Gogh is a painter, I decided to print the cover of the book on a heavy stocked watercolor paper. I then incorporated the patterning of the museums logo to the inside of the cover. I was inspired by the orange of Van Gogh’s hair, as well as the dark blues he paints with; I use those colors throughout the book. Finally, I saddle stitched the book together with thread.
